Measure the belly height of your cat. This is usually 100 - 150 mm ( 4" - 6") |

Mark this measurement on the outside of your door and draw a straight horizontal line 168mm (6 12") |
| Cutting a hole for your cat flap |

a) In wood
Using the horizontal line as the starting point, draw a square 168mm wide x 175mm high. |

b) In Glass
Using the horizontal line as the base, cut a circular hole to a diameter of 212mm. |

It is not possible to cut hole in toughened glass or double glazing units except at the time of manufacture.
400 series will only operate in double glazing if a plastics spacer bar is used. If a metal spacer bar is used it must be left unjoined. Cutting holes in glass can be hazardous. We advise you to consult your local glazier |

c) In Metal
Catflaps 300 & 500 Series

400 Series
The cat flap will not operate if fitted to a door containing metal e.g. uPVC coated metal doors, metal skin doors or security doors. The catflap must be isolated from the metal in a wood frame.
Using the horizontal line, draw a square with minimum dimensions of 306mm x 306mm.
Cut along the lines with a jigsaw. |

Fit a wood frame to the hole with internal dimensions of 168 mm wide 175mm high. |

d) In walls

Staywell Cat flaps are designed to fit any depth hole. It is recommended that the tunnels be glued onto the frame. Simply attach tunnels to the required depth. |

Your Staywell cat flap is fitted with the red 4 way lock on the inside of your door. Place the cat flap in the hole and mark screw holes in the outside cover in pencil |

Remove the cat flap and drill the holes with a 4.5mm drill bit. |

|
Screw into place and if needed cut the screws down to size and file to ensure no sharp edges. Cover the screw holes with the blanking plugs supplied to ensure a neat finish. Push fit the 4-way locking handle into place.
Your Staywell cat flap is now ready to use.
